Whether your jetting off on a quick couples city break or taking the kids away on a weekend adventure the one thing that will make your trip easier and less stressful is packing smart by avoiding over packing and only taking what you need, reducing excess weight to lug around and travelling lighter. Over the past year I have really been trying to declutter my life and this includes how we travel as it can be so easy to take along things that never end up being worn so now I am far more stricter with myself while still wearing clothes I love and feel good in. Like most people I am also passionate about saving money and leaving as little footprint as possible when it comes to my plastic use while travelling so I also always make sure to take my reusable water bottle and coffee cup along for the ride.
I have put together a great little mood board for a stylish and minimalist inspired weekend away and is perfect for a holdall or cabin sized luggage but still has everything you need for a day and evening look.
1. Chinti & Parker Ooh La La Knit Sweater
2. Keep Cup reusable coffee cup
3. Levis Pale Wash Denim Jacket
4. Carla Pink Sunglasses
5. Mango Hello Weekend Organic T-shirt
6. Black & Blum Appetite Water Bottle
7. Attavanti Pellevera Rialto Backpack
8. Elemente Clemente Black organic trousers
9. Birkenstock Arizona Slide Sandal
10. Fine organic cotton scarf
11. Superga Glittered Canvas high top sneakers
12. Mango Olivia organic cotton jeans
Personally this is what I would pack and I love that there is an easy flow from day to night with a casual chic European influence. My favourite pieces are the organic Hello Weekend tee from Mango and the glittery Superga high top sneakers. While exploring a new city having a decent backpack or bag that carries all your essentials is a must and this luxury Italian black backpack from Attavanti is just perfect, plus they have a fantastic selection of backpack, luggage, holdalls and messenger bags all made in Italy.
It's really surprising how less stressful things are the lighter you travel, having less to carry on transit from the airport to hotel means you arrive feeling more refreshed and less fatigue and also means when you need to check out there is less hassle and frees up more time to explore your surroundings, the same can of course be said for when you are travelling as a family, I have it down to such a fine art that myself and my two boys share one small cabin sized luggage bag for weekend breaks, plus a backpack for essential snacks.
Love the Keep Cup and organic cotton trousers! I'm all for environmentally friendly options
ReplyDeleteYes I love my Keep Cup - use it all the time and such an easy way to be eco friendly while travelling

This is something we never really have quite got hold of - A way to pack lighter. It certainly is a skill and clothes are what make the bulk of luggage.. Having a minimalist styling is great for packing light
ReplyDeleteIt does take some work - I've managed to get it down to only a small bag for the three of us and then John has his own separate bag so we are pretty lightweight considering there are four of us

I'm so bad about packing too much when I travel. I always pack way too many shirts that I never end up wearing. Our last trip was the first time I thought to bring a water bottle and it was such a good decision. I use a water bottle all the time at home, why wouldn't I use one on vacation?!
ReplyDeleteI found that I always packed things I never wore so know I pre-plan outfits so that doesn't happen and frees up some space and makes it lighter.

this would be my day to day style as it is and I love it. Pure comfort and not limiting especially when running after children and that’s exactly what you need on a getaway :)
ReplyDeleteI totally agree, casual but still stylish and practical, perfect for a weekend getaway
