Every month or so I like to go back through my Instagram which works as a bit of a memory capsule of what we have done over the last couple of weeks and reflect on these moments. In the run up to Christmas I have felt like many very rushed, stressed and short on time, we made big plans for everything we want to do and sometimes just due to not having enough hours in the day those plans don't quite turn out how you would like. However in context to others who are facing real hardship at this time of the year, despite my own personal ups and downs it's really important to remind yourself of the small moments that have made up the month and be grateful for those times. Here is my little list of things I am currently really grateful as well as trying to seek some mindfulness in the festive rush
1. Despite the sudden drop in temperature we have been making the most of each weekend and heaving out to some of our favourite places. This was taken at Dyffryn Gardens, a beautiful National Trust property.
2. We spent a lovely afternoon at Forest Farm nature reserve doing some Autumnal apple picking and pond dipping as well as exploring some of the Taff trail - this street art is aptly names the "Taff snail".
3. Last month I spent a fantastic day with Britmums at the You Tube space in London. Was so inspiring and informative and has given me much food for thought when it comes to content on my channel.
4. I have been trying to find time to get a little bit more creative away from the laptop by doing a few watercolour painting and making some handmade Christmas cards.
5. I am all about the chunky knitwear at the moment and have picked up a few pieces for the season ahead, nothing beats being nice and cosy on a cold day.
6. This image of the boys has to be one of my most recent favourites and reflecting back on our Mini road trip to Hertfordshire with F&F clothing we did in October.
7. I've had the chance to cook up a storm with Gousto this past week, these boxes make meal planning really simple and it's helped loads while I've had more deadlines than ever. If you want to give them ago you can get 50% of your first two boxes using the code LAURASIDE
8. We are all really excited about Advent starting, especially the boys. They both have chocolate advents but we also have a fun activity advent planned where we do something small and simple each day to get into the festive spirit.
9. Despite having loads of deadlines I have also been making a point of slowing down and enjoying the simple things such as reading a book with this little guy who just loves a good story.

So important to take a step back and think about all we're grateful for. I'm grateful for my health. I lost a love one to an illness last month. Thank you for reminding me to do this!
