This past week we spent running around outside in the sun followed by days dodging not getting drenched in downpours and basically enjoying all the free range fun that Bluestone National Park Resort has to offer but being as always when we travel we like to explore a little bit further afield we we managed to fit in two little day trips over our four day stay in West Wales including this trip to Llawhaden Castle on what was a very windy day.
We are always in awe of all the impressive castles dotted around Wales and feel very lucky we get to explore them as they never disappoint and always make for a great day out. Llawhaden Castle was built between the 12th-14th century and is in a state of ruin but has a tower you can go up as well as a few lower ground dungeon type rooms, it also offers some walls perfect for climbing and the scale of it is rather impressive as you can imagine it was a very opulent building back in the day.
The site was free to enter and located in a lovely little village which has a very hidden historic sites. We love simple days out like this one and if your ever near Narberth in West Wales I recommend you check this lovely castle out. We cannot wait to share more of our recent Bluestone Welsh adventure with you.
