Enjoying some simple pleasures and moments of calm |
Wow can't believe it's already the 3rd week of 52 memories with The Mumdrum - a campaign encouraging people to document there year through photos. It's been so busy around here that on days it's felt pretty manic, the baby is due in 4 weeks and we are having work done on all three bedrooms as well as needing to replace the whole bath and shower before the little one makes it's appearance. Its felt like we live in the land of boxes at the moment and no matter how many trips we make to the tip it doesn't seem to make a dent in the clutter. So what do you do on days like this? Get out of the house for a walk, chill out and a spot of Coffee, which Mr A loved as he was treated to some marshmallows.
Sky Blue Paint, Laura Ashley bedspread, bunting and wallpaper |
Today we finished painting most of Mr A's bedroom, although the skirting boards and door still need to be done, gone is the wall mural as we decided to stripe the room back to basics and go with something more simple, especially as we gear up to sell the property later this year. We opted with a lovely shade of Blue - Sky Blue from Graham and Brown and it's a relief to finally be able to put his furniture back into his room. The nursery has also been cleaned out and is ready for a re-paint as well as having picked up some lovely Laura Ashley wallpaper, fabric bunting and a beautiful bedspread.
The Sicily bed like our and Mr A enjoying our new Eve Mattress |
For our bedroom the main chest of drawers has nearly finished it's upcycle transformation although I still need to start on the wardrobe, our double bed has finally been upgraded to a wonderful Sicily King Sized bed with an Hybrid Bamboo Mattress which is proving to be one of the most comfortable things I have ever slept on! We also picked up some wallpaper in the Laura Ashley sale to bring a bit of pattern to our bedroom and I cannot wait to share the final photos with all of you.
Ooh! I have that bed! (Possibly most boring comment ever?)

I just bought a new mattress, it makes such a difference to a night's sleep. I don't know how you manage to keep up the energy at your stage of pregnancy, you are a wonder woman :)
ReplyDeleteYou're just like us - when I was pregnant we re-did our room, turned the spare room into a nursery and re-did our bathroom (week before I was being induced!) - all very crazy, but so good to get the whole of the upstairs done :)
