Enjoying an evening of shopping in St Davids Centre at 14 weeks pregnant |
It was recently St Davids Cardiff birthday and they sent me some lovely little things from a few of the stores in the shopping centre and being a regular to both the independent Arcades and St Davids I thought I would share my 5 favourite Home, Interior and lifestyle stores which are perfect for picking up those last minute things for Christmas.
My first port of call is always The White Company for some simple interior inspiration where less is more and done to perfection. It is quite pricey but everything is of the highest quality and their candles and diffusers make great affordable gifts which won't disappoint. I have been eyeing up their bedding and hope to pick some up for our new bed in the New Year.
I love these lights from John Lewis |
John Lewis
John Lewis is one of those great department stores that has an amazing Home and Interior section as well as so many different fashion brands, quality wooden toys for little ones, the best beauty products and amazing hampers. I often pop into John Lewis before Christmas to get a few special Hotel Chocolate treats for the stockings as well as some other bits and bobs. I am always inspired by there room sets and love the Eames chairs they stock.
Love the Cath Kidston iconic floral prints |
Cath Kidston
Oh how I do love a bit of Cath Kidtson, all those fresh and floral prints, the cute kids collection and kitchenware. My love affair started a few years ago when I bought a Cath Kidston changing bag and was so happy when they opened a store in Cardiff, last year I picked up some soaps and a diary as a Christmas gift for the in-laws
I love all the colourful and fun Kitchenware from Tiger Stores |
Flying Tiger Store
This place is amazing - like a mini Ikea in the city centre filled with quirky scandi inspiration, small interior accessories and lots of little bits and bobs perfect for the stocking and gifts. I recently picked up some washi tape from here and a little wooden toy for Mr A, plus some hand painted door knobs for a bathroom cabinet I am up-cycling. It's a real pity they don't have an online shop but I am so happy they have a store in Cardiff.
As much as I love and support indy shops, thrift and charity stores it's also very exciting when such a well known designer decides to open a store in Cardiff as up until the past few years it's been a bit low on that front. A lot of the products are out of my price range but I love Vivienne Westwood ethical ethos and approach to business and I think less is more and investing in quality pieces is always important and I am hoping to pick up a fun tee for summer, plus I love my Vivienne scarf in purple and yellow - colours I would normally not go for but they really work together and it's so warm and comfy.
Rocking my Vivienne Westwood scarf on a cold winter night and getting my nails done at Kamigata |
St Davids also has some great places to eat including the recently opened Wahaca (review to come soon), The Cosy Club and Wagamama being a few of our favourite spots, plus if you fancy pampering yourself Kamigata offer an express service which includes a mini facial, blow-dry and getting your nails done.
John Lewis is my favorite shop in St Davids. Theres something there for everyone, plus if you go before Christmas you can have a selfie with Monty the Penguin x
ReplyDeleteI know John Lewis is great for the whole family :)

I love St David's. I have to admit one of my favourite shops is John Lewis. I also love Cath Kidston and Fat Face. I don't think I've ever been in The White Company but must check it out!
