We love Christmas...although we are not one of those who has every single trimming up and the tree on the 1st December, probably because we are not that organised but also we like the excitement to build and therefore the decorations seem to come out in bits and pieces, slowly bringing that sense of Christmas into our home and once we have picked the tree it all seems to come together. So far we have been enjoying making homemade crafts, baking and having some lovely fresh flowers in the kitchen and placing the wreath in the hallway (not that traditional but it works). Mr A has also really enjoyed his homemade simple chocolate-free Advent which has gone down a storm and is something we will do for the foreseeable future as it turns everyday things into exciting outing - such as we went swimming today and baked the day before.
Mr A's simple homemade advent |
This month has already been fairly indulgent food wise as we have enjoyed a few more treat than usual, as well as planning what we will be cooking in the run up to Christmas and hopefully hosting one or two relaxed get-togethers.
As with all entertaining you need to have both the food and drinks covered and what is better than a lovely class of red win or homemade mulled win. Unfortunately this year I cannot drink due to being pregnant but that doesn't mean I won't have it covered for our guest and I also really enjoy making wine based cocktails over Christmas. If you are like me I am sure you will love this wonderful little giveaway to win a Lindemans Christmas Wine Box containing three wines (White, Red and Rose) in a beautiful wooden box.
The competition runs from the 10th December to 16th December and is open to over 18yrs, UK residents.
