For young children Halloween is one of the most highly anticipated days of the year, if we ignore Christmas and birthdays that is! As the nights are drawing in and pumpkin flavoured products pop up everywhere. It's also a lovely time of the year to bring nature and autumn colours into the home as well as dressing up a room with a real sense of fun.
I love the color of the tartan (image), perfect for autumn and halloween and the left decorations are beautiful (image) |
But I think the most exciting part for little ones is choosing a suitably scary costume for their trick or treat escapades, but for a busy parent this can be a bit of a nightmare! It’s important in the run up to identify which costumes are set to be popular in 2014 and where you can get hold of these, as they will undoubtedly be the costumes your little ones want most. No parent wants to be spending the week before Halloween trying to put together a last minute costume based on someone’s new favourite Disney princess.
Never
fear, you can find everything you need to kit out the kids this
Halloween at MorphCostumes which has created a
fancy dress phenomenon, which is now taking over the world. Morph
Costumes has launched the highly anticipated ‘MorphFamous’
contest, the largest costume design challenge in the lead up to
Halloween. Anyone who considers themselves a potential designer can
submit entries throughout
October on the Morph Costumes website, it’s then up to the public
to show their support and vote for their favourites. The winner pockets an amazing $10,000
Gregor
Lawson, Co-founder of Morph Costumes commented: “Innovation and
creative design is at the heart of everything we do, and we want to
celebrate some of the best undiscovered talent out there in the
world. Morph Famous is an incredible opportunity for anyone who loves
Halloween, fancy dress or design and wants to see if they have what
it takes to be crowned the most creative in the entire world, when it
comes to crafting an awesome piece of Halloween fancy dress”
The
top 10 designs with the most votes will be announced in the run up to
Halloween, the shortlisted costume designs will be passed on to the
official judges to make the final decision and will decide who shall be
crowned as the first ever Morph Preneur, just before Halloween on
October 27th.
In the run up to Halloween we love to get into the spirit of things, not only has the season changed to Autumn and that brings all sorts of fun things with it but also means it's time to get our cooking and craft on.
We love collecting leaves and making wild art, finding the perfect pumpkin to carve, making paper garlands and getting the house feeling a little spooky. What are your favourite things to do for Halloween?
We made these little treats last year |
This is a collaborated post with Morph
This is a great opportunity for any new designer out there.
