Whenever we have a long duration of bad weather my mind starts to day dream to warmer summer days and really to be honest, as the rate the little man is growing up, spring really is just around the corner, which means it's time to shop for one of my favourite accessories - sunglasses. My festival essential, as well as late night hide the sleepless eyes accessory - glasses are not only useful but can add instant style to any outfit.
Enjoying the sun last year |
Having grown up in a hot country (South Africa) where I spent many a weekend on surfing, hiking outdoors or enjoying a relaxing swim by the pool, deep down I am still that chilled out surfer girl who loves to wear sunglasses - to me there is a real sense of comfort when you find a great pair that suits your personality and style. With John having to wear prescription eyeglasses it's something we both look up when the new trends for the year start to filter through and winter/spring is the perfect time to buy glasses and get on trend before summer hits.
I am still very much into the round trend, I think it's because as soon as summer sets in and Janis Joplin starts being played on the record player I cannot help buy want to indulge in my inner hippy and rock the summer of love circle style glasses.
Having a young toddler running around though makes high street shopping somewhat more challenging for both of us so John who knows what his prescription is simply buys his eyeglasses online, which I also do, especially with harder to find frames such as the Cazals which I purchases as a present for John a few years back - they came all the way from Germany via America and with all major online retailers shipping worldwide, ordering from well stock sites such as GlassesUSA.com is no longer a problem and they have a really cool feature called the Virtual Mirror were you can upload an image of yourself and have it try on different frames - so cool

ooh i love those shades x
ReplyDeleteI own far to many shades, I have no idea why because I generally always wear the same pair but I just can't help myself. Sadly we've got a good few months to go before the shades and the sun returns. x
ReplyDeleteI'm surprised but I love the colourful frames! I have rounded features but very narrow eyes so the big chunky frames would create a perfect balance.
