On the weekend I had the amazing opportunity to take part in a John Lewis blogger challenge at the Cardiff St Davids Store with Charli from Charli dot dot dot. We were each given a budget for which to find a festive christmas outfit. My budget was £500 to find an outfit from top to toe that would be perfect for a festive night out. Whenever I think of christmas I think of gold and silvers and wanted to incorporate that element into my outfit. So with the run of the store I went out and looked for something I felt comfortable in and an outfit I could see myself wearing with hints of sparkle.
I managed to put together my outfit just under the budget with it coming in at £458, I could of easily gone over as I spotted a lovely Ralph Lauren bag for £360 but that would not have left me very much for the rest of the outfit. John Lewis stocks so many amazing brands and I really wanted to showcase the diversity in the outfit with each piece being a different make but all working together.
What I wore
Jeggings - Kin by John Lewis £45
Sequin Top - Coast £55
Leather Jacket - Oasis £140
Ted Baker Clutch bag - £139
Dune shoes - £89.99
I fell in love with the Dune shoes with it's touch of gold and would be perfect for a special night out and the leather jacket was buttery soft. Charli went for a bold orange/coral colour dress which I loved and was really colourful which is a great way to brighten up a cold wintery night.

John Lewis was also really good at looking after us by providing some delicious cream tea and the cutest little macaroons, as well as having our own private dressing room and vintage style clothes rail to put our outfit ideas on. Initial I went for a French Connection faux-fur gilet which was super fun but didn't quite go, although I may go back and pick it up as it was so warm and snugly - perfect for cosying up in a country pub near a warm fire eating mince pies.
If you are looking for a new festive outfit or have a huge list of Christmas presents to buy than St Davids is holding an amazing event this Thursday - Christmas Shopping Night By St Davids which starts at 6:30pm and has the shops open until 9:30 with up to 25% off in over 100 stores, plus exclusive pampering treats for one-night only! You need to register and I highly recommend you do as I have been to many St Davids events before and it's a great evening filled with shopping, food and fun.
Even though I didn't get to keep the outfit it's days like these that I love being a blogger as I got to have a real good look around the store, season trends and play dress-up, now who doesn't like doing that.

aaaw I really wanted to do this but I was in Dorset on the weekend. Love your choices, John Lewis is always the first place I look for a fancy frock - French Connection and Whistles upstairs are my faves.

I refused to hand over big bucks for a new dress and I found this dress on Internet. It is absolutely perfect and it's a great dress that's worth triple the price.
