We have spent so much time outdoors this past week, with so many adventures and lots of photos, although for this weeks Country Kids we have decided to focus on just one of our little outings otherwise it would turn into a bit of a mammoth post, although we will be sharing more of our outdoor fun throughout the week.
We are very lucky to live near some amazing places, including the Waterfalls found on the Brecon Beacon/Neath boarder and on very warm days it provides a lovely cool walk provided by the natural canopy of the forest trees. John has been coming here since he was a boy so it was so nice to have a family day out and take the little man.
It's a beautiful walk, with the river on one side and cliff face heading upwards with a few Caves here and there on the other side, it's a wonderful and wild place to have a gentle hike. We walked for about an hour and then decided to stop and have some food and a dip in the water, although the dip in the river ended up being an hour in itself, even though the water, which comes directly from the mountain, was freezing, the little man couldn't get enough.
Mr A loved looking for pebbles and stones to skim on the water with Daddy J, and collected a few smooth ones to take home and put on the nature table.
We have made a huge effort over the past two weeks to spend every warm day in or around water as a few weeks ago we where in a paddling pool and while Mr A was splashing me he fell over and went under for literally a second but it knocked his confidence, so we have had a great time in the sun building it back up and now he loves bring back in the water.
Every week we join up with Country Kids Linky - so if you like spending time outdoors with your little ones why not join in
What a stunning place to take a cooling walk, it looks beautiful. I'm glad Mr A has regained his confidence and is enjoying the water again. Thanks for sharing your outdoor adventure with Country Kids.
ReplyDeleteIt really is a beautiful place and we love sharing with Country Kids every week, can't wait to see what next week holds :)
DeleteBrrrr! Glad he is getting his confidence back with the water...the smile on his face says it all! Looks like a great place I know my wee man would love it. Love his shorts by the way (I happen to have the same pair for my wee man and we were wearing them for our country kids post! :))
