Ever since I started this blog I have had a love affair with blazers, although not the budget to keep buying one every season. I try to re-invent and up-cycle my clothes by adding studs, fabric, beads and accessories but this year I really do need to get a new addition to my wardrobe as my older ones have now seen their best days, except for two vintage ones I own that appear to be timeless in quality and style.
I think the reason why I love blazers is because they are so versatile, you can dress them up or down, wear it to work or out on the town. You can be very feminine or rock the tom-boy look, they are also very stylish and chic and can show off your figure really well and can be very slimming in appearance. I love how the Parisians add stylish twists to the blazer by wearing on the shoulder (as above) or layering and adding big snoods in winter and they always look effortlessly chic, especially when the blazer is tailored towards your shape. Blazers are a great international favourite on the street style scene with European elegance on the streets of Milan to browsing quirky boutique shops in Berlin to a day at the races in Ascot to having a bite to eat at a trendy bar in Brooklyn and having a well cut blazer to me is the same as having a great pair of jeans - it never really ages and it always looks on trend. It's also a popular choice at the big fashion events of the year such as New York Fashion Week and London Fashion Week which is on right now.
Being on a budget but still wanting to be on trend I have picked my favourite from New Looks Blazers range, which I am really impressed with as they have a range of styles and cuts for any shape and size and some interesting twists on original designs such as the Contrast trim boyfriend suit blazer - I love the black collar on this one. They also have a few on sale from as little as £9!

I love blazers! Where I am in NYC I feel like its all I wear, the weather is always changing but your right blazers are great for anytime and anything.. okay maybe not a bathing suit lol. But still! I have about 6 so far I love colored blazers, I don't think they will ever go out of style just like jeans.
