Me in the photobooth |
So last thursday I was lucky enough to make my way to the big smoke and have a sneak peek at the new AW13 Boden collection at Somerset House and if I could use one word to describe the winter autumn collection it would be - WOW. I am a true lover of summer but in a way seeing the lovely Fair Isle jumpers and cute mini boden children's clothing I cannot wait for Autumn and to snuggle up in front of the fire with a cup of hot chocolate and a lovely knit jersey to keep me warm and cosy.
I first got into Boden when my very stylish mother starting buying their clothing and I was envious and always borrowing her clothes. The great thing I love about the brand is it really is a family brand with stylish pieces for all the family and I was very impressed with not only the womenswear but also the mens collection they had on display and of course the beautiful children's clothing. They had amazing room sets that invited you in to have a closer look, filled with colours, creativity and quirky little touches to keep you going through the colder months of the year.
Prints where very popular thing the AW trends, especially in the Mini Boden collection, as well as Tweed, Jacquard and classic British styles. I fell in love with the girls collection which was bold, fun and full of happy uplighting shades as well as cute little sown-on animals.
I feel in love with this little girls Mac and skirt - gorgeous |
Love the little Mini Boden line |
A wonderful knitted Mr Fox |
The one thing about Boden is their styles are often classic, as well as leaning a little towards seasonal trends they do tend to last year after year as they are are timeless and well made quality garments. I have one stripy blue shirt I have had for years and every summer I wear it know it will pair up with my skinny jeans perfectly. The mens and women's shoes from Boden really caught my eye and my need to get a pair of the women's brogues for this coming autumn. The men's shoes seemed really practical but also stylish paired with colourful socks, perfect for the outdoor countryman look.
Now I am not usually a red wearing person but two of my favourite pieces were this wonderful red rain mac and fair Isle jumper - too cute, and I am sure will keep you warm and dry, while also looking good.
Overall I had a great day, I visited the Boden pamper parlour and had a very relaxing hand massage paired with an Apple Cinnamon cocktail concoction which was much needed and tasted amazing and the cherry on the top being the little indulgent chocolate brownies, plus I got to see Joe Wiley and Mr Johnny Boden himself, plus I got to spend a little time in one of my favourite cities in the world and indulge in a tiny little moment of me time. One more great fact is Boden is apart of the Ethical Trading Initiative meaning better employment rights, working conditions and wages for workers of the suppliers of their British designed clothing.
I've linked this post up with the lovely #YoloMondays linky over on Still Being Molly and the Collective Blog Hop on Peacoats and Plaid
